2021 w13: the gradual progression of something you believe in
We're distilling our experiences on Futureland into weekly emails. If you ever want to chat or hang out, just reply to this email. Your input helps a lot on independent projects like this. <3
Here's a few Journals to visit:
'Nocte' by karlkai is described as "creating an independent film studio in Toronto". Nocte is currently working on its latest independent film titled, 'GYPSY SON'. The log line is, "A debt collector wakes up every night from a recurring dream and is faced with collecting from a man who owes too much". Seems like they lit a car on fire recently.

pirijan recently debuted "Desktop zooming" in 'Kinopio Development Diary'. It's a joy to use and it continues to be massively inspiring watching him make 'software'.

Recording your own thoughts while you read something is a new and interesting behaviour on Futureland. You can see examples of this in dan's journals, 'Book 01: The Boat Rocker', 'Book 02: Trash' and 'Book 03: Slaughterhouse Five'. I have started doing the same while reading 'Infinite Machine' by Camilla Russo.
A recent entry by kordumb in his journal 'Meta', described as "Thoughts on note-taking" has generated some interesting discussion about new independent tools. How they might fit together and what that might mean. Seems like there's many layers to dive into here.
pugson has been diving deeper into an exploration of himself as a multidisciplinary artist and into the world of Cryptoart. You can see this in his journals, 'Learning Cinema 4D' described as "Objects in space" and 'sounds' which is described as "experimenting with music and soundscapes".

Futureland updates:
Sorry if you experienced broken links last week in our newsletter. A little blip while switching newsletter providers and it should be sorted now! <3
Futureland needs new design improvements because we have learned a lot about what everyone wants (needs). It takes a lot of work, but we have been able to increase the speed of these improvements through daily design reviews and a heightened overall effort in the area. lucas, pirijan and I are very tuned in to it right now ⚡️
I hung out with pirijan for the first time ever on Thursday, he's in Toronto for a bit. We sat outside for a coffee/tea at a friend's spot and chatted about many different things. His work is a huge inspiration to me. An interesting note that came up was that pirijan has been redesigning Futureland for 2 months, making an impact and getting paid without us ever having a single video chat, phone call or any kind of meeting. This Thursday was the first time I ever 'talked' to pirijan.
ty for everything <3
